About: Rakhtshooy Khaneh of Zanjan
The property of Rakhtshooy khaneh was bought in 1928 by the order of Ali Akbar Tofighi, mayor of Zanjan city. The reason for building Rakhtshooy Khaneh was to build a laundry house for women to have a comfortable and safe covered place to wash loads of clothes and other stuffs.
So they can have a convenient and safe place rather than queuing up in the natural springs for washing laundry and dishes during cold winter and hot summer days.
You cannot find any place as the resemblance of Rakhtshooy Khaneh’s function; in entire of Iran, so it is something really unique. And it is one of must to do things in Iran, especially if you plan to Travel to North West of Iran.
Tourism office of Zanjan made this building as anthropology museum of Zanjan. And you can get an idea of the ladies traditional outfits and jewelry by looking at mannequins of ladies with traditional outfits while they are doing laundry.
