About: Segonbad Urmia

According to the inscription of this monument, this dome has been built at the instigation of one of the Seljuq rulers called Shes Gate Al Mozafari (شیث قاطه المظفری). This monument's architecture is fairly similar to sixth century AH tombs, especially Maragheh tombs and other Seljuq tombs. It is noteworthy that in Seljuq time, tomb-making in Iran's Islamic period began a growing trend. Seljuk Turks managed to create and present an Islamic-Iranian government which was headed by Iranian senior ministers of Seljuq like Nizam al-Mulk.
This monument belongs to sixth century AH, and it was registered in Iran's National Heritage on Azar 15, 1935 with the registration number of 242.
