About: Tomb of Sattar Khan the National Commander

Sattar Khan (born on October 20th, 1866, in Sardar Kandi of Varzeqan – November 17th, 1914) whose real name was Sattar Khan Qareh Daqi was one of the commanders of Iran’s constitution movement, titled the national commander. With his resistance against governmental and anti-constitutionalist forces in Tabriz, he made many sacrifices. Sattar Khan led the Tabriz, Armenia and Caucasia’s militias during the eleven months of the minor despotism, and the exhausting resistance of Tabriz residents against 35 to 40 thousands of governmental forces were conducted by his leadership and guidance, as he was famous even outside of Iran’s borders, and his name used to be mentioned in bold fonts in the press of Europe and America and they published articles about his tough and persistent resistances.
The valorous and brave commander of Tabriz whose battle memories are carved in Iran’s history is now buried in a corner of the court of his majesty, Abdul Azim Hassani(praise be upon him) holy shrine.
