Bampour castle is one of Asia’s important military fortresses, located in the 24 kilometer distance to west of Iranshahr, in Bampour district and in the 1 kilometer distance to north of Bampour town on an artificial high hill in the height of 80 meters from the ground. It is best to visit this place in autumn and winter. Bampour castle used to be the most stable shelter in the past, and was the government center of Kerman and Baluchistan for long times. Therefore, archeologists’ researches estimated the origin of this fortress to the primary historical era and to Parthian and Sassanid eras.
