Qomchay (Qomchoqay) Castle is one of the ancient and historical monuments, which is located 12 kilometers from Qomchoqay Village near Bijar on the top of a mountain facing deep valleys. The mountain is known as Aytus Mountain amoung the naitves. Different tales and myths are narrated by local people about Aytus (Castle commander) and his battles and also the vague interior and exterior conditions of the castle and they have all made the castle a mysterious place. The castle dates back to 8-9 centuris BC. On the northern border of the castle, a hollow is beautifully carved. There is a long stair in the North West that makes the three periods of Medians, Parthians and Arsacids certain. During Mongus, a small altar was built with four stairs which is interesting in its kind.
