Posht Qala (Kurdish) fortress or in Persian, Posht Qale fortress  is located in the five kilometer distance of Abdanan town to the western north of Posht Qala village on a high hill.
The mentioned fortress have various parts including bulwark, look-out and watchmen turrets, the entrance of the fortress, residential buildings and alcove, tunnel and the stairways. This cultural-historical relic is from the Sassanid era.
This fortress was registered in the list of Iran’s national relics in 2001 for its significance and for conduction of archeology studies and for its maintenance and renovation.
