Historical castle of Joshun is located in 26 km in west of Varzeghan city towards to Jolfa, near Joshun village.
Joshun castle is probably one of Babak Khoramdin’s castles which is on the top of the rocky mountain in one of the beautiful mountainous region in northwest of Varzeghan city.
The excavations on this castle result in discovery of potteries from 6500 BC and primary Islamic centuries. Also, there were many layers of different ears of history, before and after Islam that proves antiquity and usage of this place during many periods.
