About: Marand Jameh Mosque

Jameh mosque of Marand with history of 920 years is one of the buildings belonging to eighth century. Sanctuary of this mosque was built in 731 AH equal to 1331 AD by order of Sultan Abu Sa’id Bahadur Khan Ilkhanate and with hands of a plasterer and a Tabrizi craftsman. This erection has been recorded as national monuments with number 239 in 15th of day, 1310 (1931). 
Sanctuary of chief mosque of Marand (the highest and the healthiest historic sanctuary in Azerbaijan) is significant in terms of construction and plastered circular columns, Kufic inscriptions, its map and meter. 
Chief mosque of Marand by having two sanctuaries is unique in Islamic architecture.
