About: Mardanaqom Village

Mardanaqom is one of the villages of East Azerbaijan Province and the capital of Dizmar-e Sharqi (East Dizmar) Rural District, a part of Minjavan District in Khoda Afarin County. 
The village has a number of ancient monuments, enjoys mild weather, and contains pomegranate, blueberry, walnut, cherry, and sour cherry gardens. 
It should be noted that a pomegranate festival is held in Mardanaqom Village every October in order that the tourists can also take advantage of this festival, visit natural landscapes and ancient monuments of the county, and enjoy the lively and virgin nature of the village. 
One of the ancient monuments of Mardanaqom is a castle located in the heights of the village. It was built before the appearance of Islam and protects Mardanaqom, Kavanaq, Ahmadabad and high villages against the enemies' attacks.
