Old castle: Symbol of historical architecture wonders 


Old castle (Kohna qala) of Meshgin shahr is a remnant from Sasanian era, and it has special strength; it has been kept and used as a haven in battles and enemies’ invasions. An inscription with Sasanid line exists in northwest side of this erection in distance about 150 meters in Khiav Stream. This castle with an area about 15 thousand square meter has been located at the entrance part of Meshgin shahr from Ardabil road and on a natural hill with 50 meter height. Also, it is made up of six turret with thick brick walls and small cells like manger.
The old castle has been recorded in list of national relics with registry number 618.
