About: Stone Bath Givi

The stone bath (Dash Hamami in local language) has been located in south of Ardabil and east part of Givi city, among gardens and next to Givi river. This bath is a small square room with size of 5 meters which is carved inside a rocky mountain. It has one entrance door. In a small natural square room with 40 meter, the water exudes from three points with different temperatures. The water of this bath is mineral and it is useful to remove kidney stone.

It is not clear that by whom this bath has been built. It can be compared with many stone crypts of Azerbaijan area that most of them relate to Urartian era. To determine the historical period of this bath, specific expert work is needed which has not been done yet, but this bath is the oldest bath of world that is still used and has hot warm water.

Givi is a city in central section of Kowsar County in Ardabil province.
