Itinerary

Day 1: Tabriz - Ardabil - Shahsevan nomads (Near Meshgin Shahr)

Our tour will start from Tabriz with 3 hours drive to Ardabil, to visit one of the most interesting and fascinating mosques in Iran. Sheikh Lotfolah mosque and complex (World Heritage Site) has so many things to offer, such as its famous Allah Allah tower, Khanghah (Darvish khaneh), Shrine of Sheikh Lotfolah and some famous Safvai kings and family, Cheni Khaneh and so many other things to offer.
After this visit we will continue our way to Shahsevan Nomad’s tribe near Meshgin Shahr.

Day 2: Shahsevan Nomad

What can be more exciting than waking up in Nomad’s tent in the middle of nature? Today we will have a nomads style breakfast with nomads and then we will have introduction of Shahsevan’s tribe and their life style. Afterword, we will go to Meshgin Shahr and visit its beautiful suspended bridge, the longest suspended bridge in Iran. Then we will continue our tour to one of the natural hot spas in the area for relaxing and enjoying the natural water softening our skin.

Day 3: Shahsevan Nomads to Kaleybar

Today after our breakfast with Nomads, we will continue our tour to Kaleybar by visiting Shahar Yeri on the way. Shahar Yeri is an archaeological site dates back 7 thousand years BC. The most important part of this place is its temple with more than 300 standing stones with figures of human with the face (no mouth, except one of them), a hand and sword, the height of these stones are ranging between 35 cm to 250 cm.

Day 4: Kaleybar to Babak castle and Moghadam Nomads

Another exciting day, this might be one of your best days on this tour with an extraordinary hike. Our day will start from Ghala Darasi for those of you who are expert in hiking and the rest of the group will be taken to different spot to start their hike from there which takes less than 2 hours hike to Babak castle. However, the hike from Ghala Darasi takes about 4 hours hike through green lush forest to Babak castle.
Babak Khorramdin was a revolutionary and famous hero who fight against Abbasid Caliphate invades to Iran over 20 years. On this tour you will learn more about him and his prowess. After our visit to castle, we will have 1 hour hike to Nomads tent and enjoy the rest of the day with Nomads.

Day 5: Moghadam Nomads to Jolfa

Today will start with a beautiful sunrise or perhaps a mystical foggy weather which will cover our tents. Experiencing this breathtaking moment will be one of the best of our journey. We will then enjoy an organic nomad’s breakfast before heading towards Jolfa.
Jolfa is one of the small cities in East Azerbaijan province however, it has so many things to offer, such as St. Stephanus monastery (World Heritage Site), Chupan chapel, Khaje Nazar caravansary. To get this city we will drive along Aras river on the border between Iran and Azerbaijan, Iran and Armenia, Iran and Nakhjavan (Azerbaijan territory). This Aras river or locally known as Araz river has so many stories to tell you about along the road.

Day 6: Jolfa to Tabriz

Today we will drive to Tabriz to discover one of the oldest cities in Iran, rich in culture and history. However, our first place to visit is Kandovan village. Kandovan is a rocky village like Capodoccia in Turkey which people are still living inside the carved rocky stone houses. Exploring the each neighborhoods and visiting some of these houses is a great experience. Finally we will stop in one of these houses and have tea with a local and local made lunch.
After our lunch, we will make our way to colorful mountains of Tabriz. According to our visitors’ feedback who have been in so many places in Iran, this is going to be one of the best highlights on your trip to Iran. These colorful mountains Range start from 180 km on East of Tabriz and ends in 35 km in the North East of Tabriz.
