Maku

Maku is one of the border counties of West Azerbaijan province in Iran’s northwest. The center of this county is Maku city. Most of the people of Maku are Shia Muslims with a Sunni minority. Maku county is established over the Zangmar river, near Baroon village. This city, due to being located next to the Bazargan border and customs area, is the crossing place of the travelers who go to or come from Turkey by land.
