Darreh Shahr

Darreh Shahr is one of the western and foothill counties of Iran and Kabir kuh (from Zagros mountains). Its center is Darreh Shahr city. The ancient Madakto city (old Darreh Shahr city), is located on the southern end of the current Darreh Shahr. Currently this city, in geological terms, is considered the largest geo park in the world and also the largest historical city in the west of the country. It’s also the second largest city of the province, after Ilam city, in terms of urban development. Darreh Shahr is also known as the “city of castle” in Iran.
