Taleqan

Taleqan city is the center of Taleqan county in Alborz province. This city is located in a highland region between the Alborz mountains and 120 kilometers northwest of Tehran. Taleqan city, due to being located in the middle Alborz mountains, has a mountainous and highland climate, and because of that it has a seasonal population that soars to more than 12 thousand people during summer; while the fixed population of the city is about 5000 people. Taleqan region is the habitat of wildlife and diverse species of plant, which qualify its recreational values. Taleqan region, other than its precious natural monuments, have valuable religious and historical places as well, which add to its attractions.
