Marand

Marand is one of the counties of East Azerbaijan province and its center is Marand city. Marand county is located at 57 kilometers northwest of Tabriz on the transportation axis of Europe and the Middle east. This county is positioned on the green mountains of Mishodaghi and has a very beautiful and spirit-lifting nature. Due to being located on the transportation highway between Iran and Europe, marand city has an exceptional geographic and strategic location. Tabriz-Marand highway, Marand jolfa road and Marand-Bazargan road are the main transportation routes of this city.

The local products of Marand include fruits, dried fruits and handicrafts. Marand is known as the city of trucks due to being situated on the Silk Road. Marand is also known as the largest producer of dried fruits in the country.
