Abbas Abad historical complex is one of the historical monuments in mazandaran Province. Abbas Abad Gardens are located 9 kilometers from Behshahr County and in the outskirts of Alborz Mountains and among dense forest and is considered one of the most important and greatest historical gardens in Iran that is registered in UNESCO World Heritage as one of the Iranian gardens.
This complex includes Abbas Abad Dam, dam reservoir and lake, flower garden, palace, bathroom, water mill and two brick towers. The complex was built to the order of Shah Abbas I in 1020 and 1021 in a previously called Kharguran Area. It is the most non-desert garden in Iran at the moment and its area is about 500 hectares.
