Poppy grows in different regions of Iran. This flower is famous as wild poppy and wild tulip in Iran’s literature. Poppy has been always remembered as the ever lover flower. And existence of very small amounts of opioid compounds in extracts of this plant has caused this extract to be named harmless opium.
Wild poppy which mostly grow in farms, plains, and low hillsides of mountains are seen in spring in villages of Livarjan, Shoja and in borderline of Jolfa County, as such that it converts the nice beaches of Aras river into a cradle of poppies.
