Sever village is in distance of 24 kilometers from Bonab County and is one of the two villages with tourism purpose, it has stair-like architecture in order to attract tourists.
One is Tut-khane village with population about 700 families, and the other is Sever village which is near Tut-khane village and it has 70 families.
These two villages, Tut-khane and Sever with their unique architecture can be investigated as a dictionary of country’s rural architecture.
These two villages have rocky architectures, and most houses have small doors and windows in order to prevent penetration of coldness in winter. Architecture of rural houses which are affected by climate conditions, living style and economic activities have harmony with the surrounding environment.
When we see Sever and Tutkhane villages from far that they have been built on the steep of mountains, the first thing that is evoked for us is Masouleh village. As in this type of architecture, the yard of upstream houses are the roofs of downstream houses, the houses of complexes have porches with wooden columns that were sealed by mica impure soil, and this makes village to brighten as silver, and rocky units under these houses are used as warehouses.
About experience of using mica soil as a sealing, it can be referred to writing of Herodotus, a Greek historian that when we enter Median land, forts of Medians shine like buildings made up of silver and it is now visible in all lands that were part of Median territory, it is used as sprayed glaze.
Sever village has antiquity about 2500 to 3000 years and like Kandovan, it has rocky architecture, buildings are in two stories, as present brick homes have been erected on the rocky hand-carved houses of past. Sever rocky village has been located in Bonab County, central section and it has been recorded as one of the national remnants with register number 3086 in 25th of Esfand, 1379 (2001).
