Damghan

Damghan is one of the counties of Semnan province. This city faces the Alborz mountains to the north (Mazandaran & Golestan provinces), Shahrud city is on the east, the central desert is on the south and Semnan city is on the west.

Damghan city with an expanse of 13080 square km has a distance of 337 km from Tehran. Damghan is famouse as Sad Darvazeh (One hundered gates), it is one of the ancient and old aged cities of Iran that has been the enter of Koumesh state and as the historiographers' point of view, it was capital of Ashkanian.
